T-Shirt Printing Pricing Guide

We get asked how we price our t-shirt printing all the time. Read on for how pricing is ultimately determined when getting custom t-shirts made.

Product Type & Brand

T-shirts, hoodies, long sleeve t-shirts and women’s cut t-shirts all range in price depending on the type of product, material and brand. We offer a wide assortment of apparel in every price range.

Type of Printing Method & Number of Colors

We offer silk screen printing and digital printing. Both are great in their own ways, but very different when they come to pricing.

Silk screen generally requires a 24-piece minimum and allows for a max of 3 print colors per design. Each print color adds to the price of the print. Each color means more setup and production time, so each color added to the design will add to the price of the print. One color will always be the most economical choice in silk screen printing.

DTF digital printing offers unlimited colors at no additional cost. There is no minimum, which means this type of printing is great from smaller, on-off orders, but the print cost per piece is more than silk screen prices.

Size of Decoration Area

Depending on what is being printed, the size of the decoration may play into the pricing. There is generally a minimum price per decoration area, for areas such as a left chest print, since there is still time and labor that goes into the left chest print. But there may be a price difference, especially for digital print on areas such as a half front print vs. an extra-large back print, since it takes more material to produce the print.

Number of Locations

Each location, such as a front, back, yolk, or arm print requires us to spend more time and material on printing, so each print area is going to add to the printing cost of the finished product. If you are price sensitive in your order, a front and a back will be more expensive than just a front, so you can reduce cost by removing on of the print locations.

Quantity Ordered

The biggest factor in the overall printing cost though is the quantity ordered. You will always be a better deal when you order more product. The more t-shirts that you order, the lower your printing price and garment price per product.
